FINAL TOUCHES

Well Tim Bradham (of Tim Bradham Hot rods and bikes) and I put the final touches on the new frame last Friday. It really has been a long road for this R&D project. I am having a lot of fun with this collaboration project. Hands down, Tim is one of the best welder I have ever seen. Its hard not to get excited about a simple frame, when the welds are laid down like art work! December 15th the frame will come out of the jig and i'll install the wheels and girder for a roller shot!

Display Tables

Need a new table for shows, so the guys got together on Saturday and delivered this little piece. Its hand carved birch stained with paint and blood, and burnt with a torch. Not too shaby.

Timonium Bike Show Maryland

Looks like a great event. Alot of friends that attend this event at the Maryland State fair grounds in Timonium MD, say this event gets bigger and bigger every year. I'm going to check it out this year. They are having the swap meet this weekend as well. Should be a great time.

We will be up here with Rusty Knuckles inside with a stage and a few bands. We will have some shirts, hats and othher swag. Hopefully I can meet up with a few of you!

Meeting Ralph "Sonny" Barger.

The line was long and I had just enough time for an autograph and pay respects. Great guy with alot of protection. There were Hells Angels and Red Devils from Florida to Maine there filling the parking lot. The local Pizza shop and bar in the shopping center made out well! Froze half to death the way up, but warmed up by noon. All in all, it was a great ride!

Hooters had a bike show Saturday night, here in Fayetteville NC. A shit pile of bikes showed up some for beer and wings, others for the bike show. There were a few big guys hauling in bikes with trailers! It was a great time. Somebody pushed my bike over and entered it into the bike show with out my consent. It was covered in dirt, oil, grease and rough from my everyday riding! And low and behold, #75 pulled first place in the bobber class (is it a bobber?) The trophy is cool, but the gift certificate for the tattoo (Hot Rod Studio - Tattoo Shop, Fayetteville NC) is the shit! Gettn' sleaved this month!

Title Problems...

I had some major title issues to iron out. In NC, if it is not a original HD Frame, it can't be registered as one! I dropped the ball on this one due to some bad advice. I called the Bros! Dave & Chuck bailed me out from suffering the loss of my bike, and paying ridiculous fines and insurance bonds. An MSO is in the mail, and I'm going to visit Mr. Inspector!

Elvis kicked it himself!! This is his 56' K series HD With windshield and "P" pad! The model "K" was introduced in 1952 with a side valve 45 cu in and the foundation to the great quad cam fury known as "The Sportster" which was later released in 1957! Complete with overhead valve!
55 Cu in, 7.5:1 compression, hemi-spherical heads and oh yeah...4 cams!

The Perfect Chain Idler/Tensioner

R.I.P. Skate baord wheel chain Tensioner

My Uncle, (speaking with anonymity) educates me on a product. A product I have found to be extremely useful for anyone who has had a skateboard wheel chain tensioner blow out!

Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), also known as high-performance polyethylene (HPPE). I found this to be a very tough material, with the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic presently made. It is highly resistant to corrosive chemicals. It has extremely low moisture absorption, has a very low coefficient of friction, is self-lubricating, and is highly resistant to abrasion (more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel). Its coefficient of friction is significantly lower than that of nylon and is comparable to that of Teflon, but UHMWPE has better abrasion resistance than Teflon. It is odorless, tasteless, and nontoxic.

This block of polyethylene,

plus a pair of .3125" (5/16") x 0.875" single row - double sealed radial high speed bearings,
produces the best, low friction, self lubricating chain tensioner.

In prep for my finished girder fork legs, I prepare to build another set!
I am adding a few inches in the length and maybe a couple of cosmetic alterations.
My nephew will probably snag this prototype set for his street fighter.
